RTC board’s July meeting cancelled, next meeting Aug. 1

The Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council (RTC) Board of Directors meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 4, has been cancelled. The next RTC Board of Directors meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Vancouver City Hall, Aspen Meeting Room, 415 W Sixth St. For questions, contact RTC at meetings@rtc.wa.gov.

Port of Vancouver USA reschedules July 11 meeting to July 18, cancels July 25 meeting

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Port of Vancouver, USA Board of Commissioners scheduled for 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 11, has been changed to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at the Port of Vancouver, USA Administrative Office, 3103 NW Lower River Rd., Vancouver.

The 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, regularly scheduled meeting of the Port of Vancouver, USA Board of Commissioners will not be held as the Commission will be in attendance at the Washington Public Port’s Association Commissioners Seminar beginning 5 p.m., Sunday, July 23, at the Alderbrook Resort, 10 E Alderbrook Dr., Union, WA. The commission will not vote on any action items or sign any documents during the event.

The Cosmo All Women’s Race Series is a unique running experience all the way down to the distance, 7 kilometers. This “women’s only” race series is designed as a fun-filled run/walk for women of all ages and abilities to participate and experience with girlfriends and family. At the finish line, all participants will be greeted with a one-of-a-kind finisher medal, participant shirt/hoodie, Cosmo 7K martini glass and two cosmo martini drinks. Building Futures Foundation awards $16,500 in scholarships to eight local students

The Building Futures Foundation awarded eight students with academic scholarships at the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Clark County’s membership luncheon meeting on June 22. The following students were honored: Jorgen GilbertsonWarren Phillips, Hunter LindbergBrittan Gullickson, Jordan Griffith, Reid Maahs, Alex Tetz, and Tanner Sixberry. The Building Futures Foundation, a non-profit extension of the BIA, has promoted education, student scholarships and environmentally sensitive building practices in the construction industry since 2002.
