Firstenburg Foundation grants $250,000 to construct Aging Care Resource Center

Friday, May 5, 2017

Unknown-1

For the past five years, CDM Caregiving Services has worked diligently to bring their vision of a dedicated space for modern aging programs into reality through the construction of a new Aging Care Resource Center. Now, with ground-breaking planned for early summer, the light at the end of the tunnel is quickly drawing near, and that is due, in large part, to support received from the Firstenburg Foundation.

In 2016, the Firstenburg Foundation awarded CDM a grant of $65,000 for their capital campaign with an invitation to apply for further funding if the campaign continued to advance productively. In less than 12 months, CDM’s Board of Directors and Campaign Steering Committee, chaired by Royce Pollard, raised an additional $600,000 from the community. This influx of support earned the organization an additional $185,000 Firstenburg Foundation grant for support totaling $250,000.

CDM’s new McKibbin Center, a project by RSV Building Solutions, is scheduled to be complete in early 2018 and will be located on Andresen Road, adjacent to the SHARE Fromhold Center. The new building will double the CDM’s capacity to provide quality Adult Day Services to the elderly and adults with disabilities in the community.
