2017 Clark County Leadership Awards winners announced, ceremony Oct. 25

Leadership Clark County (LCC), has announced the winners of the 2017 Clark County Leadership Awards. A public awards ceremony is Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Camas Meadows Golf Club, 4105 NW Camas Meadows Dr. Winners of this year’s awards are:

  • LCC Outstanding Alumnus Award: Kate Budd. Budd is a member of the LCC Class of 2016 and is being recognized for her tireless work to inspire a shared vision of hope in the community, and as a powerful advocate for the homeless.
  • Community Leader Award: Duane Sich. Sich is a founding member and former executive director of Friends of the Carpenter. He is still active in their Wednesday services and woodworking activities.
  • Business Leadership Award: Filbin’s Ace Hardware. Owners Mike and Denise Filbin have made community service a priority of their business. They have supported nonprofits such as Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, Partners in Careers, Learning Avenues Child Care Centers, Share, and the Vancouver District of Boy Scouts of America with donations, participation in events, volunteering, and hosting events at their store.
