Local author Rob Katsuno will perform a reading of Daniela Says at Tommy O‘s in downtown Vancouver beginning at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Apr. 2. Daniela Says is an award-winning comedic drama about Katsumo’s marriage as a Japanese-American to his Brazilian wife. “… .What a talent and force Rob is,” says Lauren Weedman, former correspondent on The Daily Show, current host of the Moth in Los Angeles, and renowned solo performer. “His personal story blasts past personal memoir into exquisite storytelling.”

Katsuno has lived in Clark County since 1999. Daniela Says won third place in Willamette Writer’s Kay Snow contest in 2011. He is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Clark County, longtime Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce member, and since 2011, has served as a board member of CDM. Vancouver earns federal EPA grant to spur economic development

Monday, March 31, 2014

The City of Vancouver has received a $400,000 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Community-Wide Assessment Grant that will be used to help identify, assess and develop clean-up plans for potential “brownfield” sites throughout the City starting this spring. Vancouver was one of only three Washington state jurisdictions to receive the grant. Brownfields are properties previously used for industrial or commercial activities that may have resulted in low-level soil contamination from oil-related or other hazardous materials. Redevelopment of brownfields can help create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, potentially increase property values and reduce public health risks. Stantec Consulting has been retained to work with the City and community on this project over the next three years. For more information, click here or contact Bryan Snodgrass at bryan.snodgrass@cityofvancouver.us or 360-487-7946.
