Beaches hosts “Cash Back Day” for Daybreak Youth Services Oct. 8

UnknownBeaches Restaurant and Bar will host a “Cash Back Day” for Daybreak Youth Services all day at both locations Tuesday, Oct. 8. Customers must mention that they are there to support Daybreak and 50 percent of the guest check will be donated back to help support the program.

Daybreak Youth Services is a regional, non-profit organization that provides treatment services for youth struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Proceeds from “Cash Back Day” will benefit a new G.E.D. program

Hash, P.E. has recently joined the staff as the Senior Transportation Manager. Previously, Hash was the SW Region Local Programs Manager for WSDOT, and brings over 34 years of transportation expertise to the team. Trinh Tran, E.I.T., has been added to the site development team group as a civil engineering designer. Tran has over 8 years experience in project design and four years of public works experience doing inspections and permits for the City of West Linn, OR, and King County, WA. Haunted Walking Tours return for a second series

Haunted Walking Tours return for a second season this Friday, Oct. 4. Interested parties can sign up for either 6 p.m. or 8 p.m., every Friday or Saturday night in OctoberClark County Historical Museum takes guests on a walk through the unsettling sights and stories of downtown Vancouver, telling ghost stories along the way. Guests should bring a flashlight, comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather. Tours are $10 or $8 for current CCHS members and begin at the Museum. Reservations and prepayment is required as space is strictly limited to 15 people per tour. The program is intended for those 13 and older. To make a reservation, call 360-993-5679 or email info@cchmuseum.org.

Clark County Arts Commission presents Lifetime Achievement Award tomorrow

The Clark County Arts Commission will present its first Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts at the Public Service Building, Suite 680, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. The event is free and open to the public.

Donna Roberge, Arts Chair and Steve Stuart, Chair of Clark County Commissioners will present the award to Austin Barton, bronze sculptor, who resides in Battleground. The plaque will remain in the Public Service Building on the sixth floor. To watch a video on Barton filmed earlier this year, click here.

The Clark County Arts Commission promotes awareness and support of the arts as a vital part of the community and local economy by creating a more visually pleasing environment, while also expanding the opportunity and accessibility of citizens to experience art in public spaces.
