Local landscaping firm targets parks, schools, living complexes with outdoor fitness equipment
G2 Outdoor Living, a Clark County-based landscape design and build firm, has received an exclusive distributorship from Z.H Sport World 2007 Ltd., an Israeli company that specializes in outdoor workout equipment. Through the agreement, G2 will introduce a line of isometric training equipment that can be used by people of all ages and physical abilities. Sport World outdoor training equipment has met recent success in Israel, where more than 400 circuits have either been installed or commissioned for this year. “We believe there is a substantial market for outdoor workout equipment throughout the Americas,” said Garret Hergert, President of G2 Outdoor Living, in a news release. “Sport World offers durable, easy-to-use equipment to help people exercise while enjoying the outdoors. We expect early success with community parks, schools, lifestyle facilities, living complexes and neighborhoods.”Hergert was introduced to Sport World executives by Tani Zarelli of Ridgefield, Wash., who has traveled extensively in Israel and noticed the equipment being installed in parks near certain hotels during trips in 2009. “When I saw people enjoying workouts outdoors in Tel Aviv, I knew this had potential elsewhere around the world,” said Zarelli. “Then, it was a matter of finding a young, energetic visionary who saw the opportunity.” Based in Vancouver and Ridgefield, Wash., G2 Outdoor Living is a design-build landscape company and nursery stock farm that has led the introduction of outdoor living spaces in the Pacific Northwest. The company envisions providing a broad range of outdoor living products and services to consumer, business and government customers. Walgreens employees clean up Orchards Park
A 20-volunteer workforce from local Walgreens stores picked up 11 bags of trash in Orchards Park on June 14. Ryan Clark, a Walgreens manager for store #9380, organized employees from four different branches to spend the day cleaning the park. Family and friends of the staff also helped. The crew of 20 volunteers picked up about 11 bags of trash. "We'd like to make this one of Walgreens' regular community events," Clark said. "I want to get other stores in the area to follow our lead." Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation encourages groups and individuals to volunteer in the parks and on the trails.
