Seekins plans campaign kickoff
Janet Seekins Janet Seekins will kick off her campaign for Clark County Assessor from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, at the Atrium Restaurant and Lounge 606 Broadway Street, Vancouver. The event is also a fundraiser Seekins, a Democrat, is running to replace Linda Franklin. As a lifelong Clark County resident, Seekins has served in the Assessor’s office for 29 years. That has included 25 years applying "mass appraisal" techniques. She has been a state-certified appraiser since 1993. Seekins can be contacted at 360-571-7041.
Rebound PA returns from medical mission in Honduras
Chuck Dowell during his medical mission in Honduras Charles (Chuck) Dowell, a physician assistant with Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, served on a medical mission trip to Honduras from May 22 to June. His trip was organized through Arizona-based Peace Work Medical Projects. The team of six physician assistants and two doctors treated patients in a clinic in Nacaome, a city along the south coast of the Central American country. A total of 2,100 people were provided medical care during the trip. Dowell joined Rebound in 2005 and is also a certified athletic trainer. Kearney Breast Center earns national accreditation The Kearney Breast Center at Southwest Washington Medical Center has been granted a three-year full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

Leadership Clark County will host a candidate forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Clark College's Gaiser Hall, featuring candidates running for the open seat in the U.S. 3rd Congressional District. The event is free and open to the public. League of Women Voters: The Clark County League of Women Voters will be hosting their primary night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, on the seventh floor of the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver. Questions for candidates will be available at 6 p.m. All races with three or more candidates, except the 3rd Congressional District and the Prosecuting Attorney, are invited to participate.
