Leadership Clark County graduation set for Friday

Now in its 17th year, Leadership Clark County (LCC) will honor its Class of 2010 at 7 p.m., on Friday, June 11, at Washington State University’s Vancouver campus.  Bruce Hagensen, former mayor of Vancouver, local business owner and consummate community volunteer, is the keynote speaker for the event, which recognizes participants for successful completion of the nonprofit’s 10-month leadership development curriculum.

Shane Gardner, of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, will offer comments to the audience on behalf of the 35 members of the class of 2010, who represent private and public businesses, non-profit groups and organizations and governmental agencies. These graduates will push the LCC alumni total to 500, including numerous community leaders.

To RSVP to attend the graduation ceremony, or to learn how to apply for membership in a future class, contact LCC Executive Director Kathy Scott at 360-567-1085 or by e-mail at director@leadershipclarkcounty.com.

Leadership Clark County announced today that Scott is leaving her position.

"Leadership Clark County is a decidedly stronger organization today than it was five years ago, and that is due in no small part to the organizational leadership and consistency that Kathy has provided," said Board Chairman Jon Yamashita
"It has been an honor to serve LCC in this capacity," said Scott. "Working together, we have accomplished a great deal, and I am confident that LCC is poised to take the next step in its growth and development.  I look forward to seeing the many new ways LCC grads will enrich Clark County in the years ahead."

Leadership Clark County’s mission is to develop effective leaders to serve Clark County.  With 500  graduates serving in more than 100 community organizations, its non-partisan curriculum is designed to help existing and emerging leaders enhance their leadership skills, knowledge of and connections within the community, and encourage their community service contributions.
