Clark County Fair honored for outreach efforts The Clark County Fair received awards from three different organizations that recognize excellence in marketing and community outreach. The Western Fairs Association, the Washington State Association and Clark County Tourism all credited the marketing team’s multi-faceted approach to publicizing the 2009 fair. “Our team has worked hard over the past year to create new and captivating campaigns, cultural opportunities and captivating marketing messages to drive in new fair-goers, retain those who visit the Clark County Fair each year and provide continual incentives to participate,” said Dana Kelley, fair marketing manager. The 2010 Fair is planned for August 6-10. For more information http://www.clarkcofair.com Special meeting tonight for Fairgrounds Neighborhood Association Planners from Clark County will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 16 ,at the Pleasant Valley Church of the Nazarene, 801 NE 194th Street. They will be providing information, including maps, that detail zoning changes. The changes will impact the 179th Street interchange. The area is bounded by Northeast 164th Street on the south, Northeast 209th Street on the north, Northeast 29th Avenue on the east, and Northwest 11th Avenue on the west. During the open house, comment cards will be available for public input. These will be collected by county officials. The initial recommendations from a community advisory group will be presented at Tuesday’s meeting. County planners will use public input to prepare a more formal proposal to the Planning Commission and Board of Clark County Commissioners. Public hearings will follow the formal proposal. Once approved by the Board, the subarea plan will be part of the county’s Comprehensive Growth Management Plan and add detail to the general plan adopted in 2007.
