Vancouver's 4th of July celebration is the
Vancouver National Historic Reserve's signature event.
While there is no charge for the day-long event at
the reserve, those attending are urged to make a $4 contribution.
Heard it all? Not until you
hear the
definition of a quality restaurant
Ever wonder what the
definition of a quality restaurant is? Look no further than the Clark
Regional Wastewater District to find out.
The district, in an effort to
entice "quality restaurants" to the Hazel Dell, Felida Salmon Creek
area, has adopted a new customer class for quality restaurants.
A quality restaurant,
according to the wastewater district, would be a full-service eatery
with turnover rates of one hour or more. They generally require
reservations and aren’t open for breakfast. While some do offer lunch,
all serve dinner and seat at least 150 people.
The district is offering a 31
percent reduction in sewer connection charges and lower cost services
than to other restaurants.

Corey Schwear designed a
futuristic car that uses biodiesel fuel to generate electricity to drive
front-wheel electronic motors, for which they earned third place in the
fuel efficiency competition held recently at Washington State University
Pullman. Engineers at Portland auto design company Porteon have invited
the young men to discuss design aspects of their automobile.
