Katheryn Angelo,
wife of the late
Katheryn Angelo, wife of nearly 60 years of ex-mayor Al Angelo, who died March 23, died in Vancouver at the age of 79. Mrs. Angelo was for 35 years an integral part of the family-owned Al Angelo Company that her husband founded in 1947. The company today is one of the largest construction and property management companies in the region. Mrs. Angelo was a very fine bowler. She was a member of Altrusa. Mrs. Angelo is survived by Al (Corky) Angelo, Jr., Craig E. Angelo, Gary A. Angelo, Larry Angelo and Kathy Angelo, 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 S. Andresen Road, at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17. Mrs. Angelo will be on view at Vancouver Funeral Home from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, and noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16. James D. Baldovin
promoted to
James D. Baldovin has been promoted to executive vice president, retail banking at Riverview Community Bank, reports Ron Wysaske, president and COO of Riverview Bancorp. Baldovin is a graduate of Linfield College, the Pacific Coast Banking School and America’s Community Bankers’ Senior Leadership Institute. Baldovin has been a vital member of the team that saw the bank’s branch network grow by 50 percent during the past four years, according to Wysaske. Baldovin has also been a member of the bank’s executive management team. Wysaske also reported that Jule Woodruff and Michael Goss have been promoted to senior vice presidents reporting to Baldovin. Woodruff has been a retail service coordinator for the past four years and for ten years had been branch manager in Hazel Dell. She is active in the Relay for Life. Gross has been a retail sales manager for the past year and has contributed to the bank’s internal training. A former sales and accounting software consultant, Goss was a management instructor for Mt. Hood Community College. Goss is chair of the City of Troutdale Public Safety Advisory Committee. Anne Butler has been promoted to vice president and portfolio manager in the commercial and industrial lending division of the Bank of Clark County at 1400 Washington Street, reports Hunt Coracci, the bank’s senor vice president and commercial and industrial development manager. Butler has 35 years’ banking experience and has been with the Bank of Clark County since its opening in 1999. She has been a Vancouver resident for the past 20 years and is an instructor for Junior Achievement. County employment up by 400 jobs Clark County’s non-farm employment declined by 600 jobs in July. But, after factoring out seasonal layoffs, primarily in education, employment rose by 400 jobs, reports Scott Bailey, regional economist for the state Department of Employment Security. Total non-farm employment stood at 136,500, an increase of 3,700 jobs—2.8 percent—above a year ago, Bailey said.
