County Fair offers
Emerson Drive tonight,
Emerson Drive opens the 2007 Clark County Fair main stage entertainment venue at 7:30 p.m. this evening. Reserved seating is $18. Grandstand seating, as for all fair acts, is free with fair admission. American Idol contestants Justin Guarini, Kimberly Caldwell and Anthony Federov headline at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, on the main stage. Reserved seating is $20. SHeDAISY performs at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, on the main stage. Reserved seating is $18. All reserved tickets must be bought through Ticketmaster, but unsold tickets the day of the concert will be available at the orange gate. The ten-day county fair concludes Sunday, Aug. 12. General admission is $9 per person. Senior tickets are $7, and children 7 through 17 are $5 per child. Parking is $5 per vehicle. C-TRAN is offering shuttle service from the Vancouver Mall, Fisher’s Landing, Salmon Creek, Ridgefield and La Center for $1 each. appointed to new state task Camas School Board member Doug Quinn has been appointed to the newly established Washington State Joint Legislative Task Force on School Construction Funding. The final 2007-09 capital budget includes $880 million for K-12 construction assistance grants. Quinn's appointment fills one of two school positions on the task force. Quinn is a member of the Camas School District board of directors and is director of the water utility at Clark Public Utilities. He was also a member of the Clark County Quality Schools Task Force. People State Sen. Craig Pridemore (D-49th) (Class of 1996) and Jeanne Kojis (Class of 2000) have been named the first Outstanding Alumni of Leadership Clark County. News brief The Portland Trail Blazers’ home opener in their 38th season is against the New Orleans Saints, Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Rose Garden. The game will be televised on ESPN. The NBA season for the Blazers opens against the San Antonio Spurs, Tuesday, Oct. 30. The San Antonio series will be televised on TNT. Calendar The Vancouver Heritage Ambassadors are conducting a Historic Walk along Officers Row in the Vancouver National Historic Reserve, leaving from the O.O. No reservations are required, except for groups of 10 or more. No new public testimony is expected to be taken.
