Vancouver presentation of the Brubeck Brothers Quartet was a sensation. In the 60’s working as a disc jockey in the Midwest, I used to play Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, and I thought that was way cool. Last Saturday the Brubeck boys, Chris and Dan, gave us their version of their father’s famous work, and I thought that that was even better! Michael Kissinger is Vancouver’s impresario. This August at the Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival he brings us Melissa Manchester, Poncho Sanchez, Blind Boys of Alabama and the rock solid Kenny Loggins. All that talent in Esther Short Park. Oh my!—Tim Welch. IQ Credit Union
