Steve Kenny named
COO
Steve Kenny was promoted to chief operating officer at Columbia Credit Union, reports Columbia CEO Parker Cann. A Vancouver native, Kenny has been with Columbia Credit Union for the past 20 years. According to Cann, Columbia is looking forward to expanding in southwest Washington. “Kenny’s experience and passion for the credit union business make him the ideal choice to help us move forward,” Cann said. Most recently Kenny was senior vice president, risk management and general services. As COO, Kenny will assist Cann in managing the daily operations of the credit union. Columbia Credit Union, which serves 63,000 members, is the largest credit union in southern Washington. All kinds of
financial aid available During the 2005-2006 academic year, the Clark College financial aid disbursed $19 million to 4,602 students, according to dean of enrollment services Michal Montoya. This includes $969,216 in scholarships, Montoya said. Of Clark’s 11,658 currently enrolled students, 40 percent have received financial aid. Financial aid includes grants, scholarships, student employment, including work-study programs, tuition waivers, sponsored programs, and student loans. In addition, Clark allows students to pay for tuition in three interest-free installments, according to Montoya. extended for six elective The lack of candidates for six elective offices, including the Yacolt Town Council and Ridgefield School District, has caused an extended three-day filing period that begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, and continues through 5 p.m. Friday, June 15, reports Clark County auditor Greg Kimsey. Positions open are Position 4 on the Yacolt Town Council, District 5 in the Ridgefield School District, Position 2 Fire District 2, and three positions in Clark County Cemetery District 5.
