architectural Architectural features of the proposed $300-$400-million, 65-acre RiverWalk on the Columbia will be shown to the public for the first time at an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the Port of Camas-Washougal administration office, 24 S A Street, Washougal. The development of waterfront property in Washougal would be a partnership between the port and the private corporation, RiverWalk on the Columbia LLC. Partners in the corporation are Marilee Thompson, Rick Bowler, Mark and Mary Benson, and John and Nancy McKibbin. The proposed features of the mixed-use development on the riverfront owned by the port are being proposed by a 13-member committee appointed by the port to come up with the “wisest and best long-term use of waterfront resources.” The proposed development is patterned after other regional waterfront projects, including the highly successful Tidewater Cove in Vancouver. The development would include residences, retail and recreational facilities, a marina and a possible hotel, and would preserve historic sites, according to the developers.
