Commissioners call Tuesday work session
to get final recommendations for growth plan

The board of Clark County commissioners, nearing the end of its deliberations on completing its revised 20-year Comprehensive Growth Management Plan, has scheduled what may be the final work session on draft Environmental Impact Statement alternatives.

The board has said, collectively and individually, that it expects to complete the revised plan before the end of 2006.

The work session will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin Street.

After they approve a final Environmental Impact Statement, commissioners will schedule public hearings before making final changes in the growth plan.

A 20-year growth plan was adopted in 2005— but discarded before it was put into effect because it didn’t appear to have  predicted population and job growth accurately.
