CRMHS veterans Zimmerman and Caley named
to mental health group’s new foundation board

Judy Zimmerman, who has been a member of Columbia River Mental Services board for the past 34 years, and Jim Caley, a member of the board for 25 years, were named to the mental health group’s new foundation.

The goal of the foundation is to provide funding for services for people who are not insured or not eligible for subsidized treatment.

Upon retiring from the CRMHS board, both Zimmerman and Caley were honored for their long tenure with the mental health organization at the recent CRMHS Gala in the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The event raised $14,500 for the new foundation.

Zimmerman and her husband, former State Sen. Hal Zimmerman, live in Camas, where for many years they were publishers of the Camas Post-Record. Zimmerman is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Washington.

In addition to her extensive volunteer and community work, Zimmerman is an accomplished musician, having performed as an oboist and English horn player for the Vancouver, Clark College, University of Portland, Portland State, and Lewis & Clark Symphonies. She sings in the Camas United Methodist choir.

Zimmerman has also done archaeological work in Petra, Jordan, during which, in 1981, she discovered a significant artifact, a marble sign from the period of King Aretas IV. From 1985 to 2000 she was a member of the board of directors of the American Center for Oriental Research.

Caley is founder and owner of the Vancouver accounting firm Caley & Associates. He has long been active in Democratic politics, having served as chairman of the Clark County Democrats. Caley is a former member of the board of trustees of Clark College. He is a member of the Washington State Board of Accountancy.

Caley and his wife, Joan, who is also active in community projects, lived in an Officers Row house when they first moved to Vancouver, Both are University of Washington graduates.

SWMC recruiting for additional
Project SEARCH employees

Southwest Washington Medical Center, recently named an Employer-of-the-Year by the Clark County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board, is recruiting for two additional Project SEARCH positions for people with disabilities at the medical center.

The medical center is making its workforce more reflective of society as it addresses long-term retention and recruitment challenges, according to Cheri Meyerhoffer, SWMC vice president of Human Resources.

Currently SWMC has filled four Project SEARCH positions in Central Processing, the Emergency Department, Environmental Services and Diagnostic Imaging.
