The Cameron family has over 100 years in the beverage bottling industry, most recently as the 10th largest U.S. distributor for Coca Cola. The new plant will employ 90 people, according to the port’s president of the board, Fred Swanstrom. Cameron had been looking at plant sites in California, Oregon and Nevada, but decided on Kalama due to the size of the Northwest’s wine industry, favorable power costs, a skilled workforce and proximity of the highway and railroad, according to Swanstrom.
