Family Physicians acquires
McLoughlin Family Practice

Family Physicians Group is acquiring McLoughlin Family Practice and will consolidate medical services in its Fisher’s Landing office at 16811 SE McGillivray Boulevard and in its new Salmon Creek medical office in the new Vancouver Clinic Medical Office at 2525 NE 139th Street.

Family Physicians Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Washington Health System, the parent company of Southwest Washington Medical Center, was formed 35 years ago. McLoughlin Family Practice was organized in 1972.

Family Physicians is the second largest physician practice in Clark County (the largest is the Vancouver Clinic), according to Mark Magistrale, administrator of Family Physician’s Group. While the Battle Ground office of McLoughlin Family Practice will close in August, Magistrale says that he expects the organization will expand back into Battle Ground and to other areas of Clark County.

Family Physicians Group physicians specialize in family practice, obstetrical care and internal medicine.

Commercial valuations rise 32 percent

Notices of property values mailed to about one-third of the approximately 15,000 Clark County commercial property owners reflected about a 32 percent increase in value over previous assessments, according to Mark Rauchenstein, of the county Department of Assessment and GIS.

The notices were mailed last week. The property values are the basis on which 2007 property taxes will be computed, according to Rauchenstein.

Notices are sent annually to about one-third of the property owners as the county fulfills its mandate to appraise all property at market value.

Property owners who disagree with the valuations are encouraged to call a commercial appraiser at the Assessor’s Office. Many issues concerning property values can be resolved at that level, Rauchenstein said.

According to the Assessor’s Office annual report, the value of all real property, but not including personal property, rose from $26.511 billion in 2003 to $33.456 billion in 2005, a slightly more than 26 percent increase.

For taxing purposes commercial property includes industrial property and multi-family properties.

Single-family residential property in Clark County was valued at $26.487 billion for 2006 tax payments. Multi-family properties were valued at $1.428 billion. Single family residential property accounts for more than three-fourths of the county’s total value.

For further information, call the Assessor’s Office, 397-2092.
