Jennifer Teisinger moving on;
symphony looks for director

Jennifer Teisinger, who has been executive director of the Vancouver Symphony for the past 18 months, has accepted a similar position with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, reportedly the largest privately funded free symphony in the nation.

“We very much appreciate what Jennifer has done for us in the 18 months that she was with us and are proud of the recognition this new position provides her,” says symphony board chairman Paul Winters.

“Personally, I hate to see her go. I have very much enjoyed working with her. She has a high degree of energy, professionalism, intelligence and political savvy.”

Teisinger will remain with the Vancouver Symphony through mid-August. Meanwhile, the local symphony is advertising for a new director.

A search committee has been formed and is just starting to advertise the position. The salary, approximately $50k depends on abilities. For further information, call Winters at 260-0275.
