During a four-hour meeting in Vancouver next week, the Columbia River Crossing Task Force is expected to narrow its study to 12 preliminary alternative improvements to the I-5 corridor between Highway 500 in Vancouver to Columbia Boulevard in Portland. Each of the preliminary alternatives combines a public transit and an I-5 bridge crossing of the Columbia River with elements to improve bicycle and pedestrian access, freight movement, and travel safety and efficiency between Vancouver and Portland. Over the next several months, the alternatives will be tested to determine how each reduces congestion and improves safety. With no changes, congestion on I-5 at the Interstate Bridge is expected to increase from the current 4 to 6 hours a day to 13 hours a day by 2020. Members of the public are welcome to attend and will have an opportunity to provide comment before the task force begins its deliberations at the 4 p.m. meeting, Wednesday, July 12, in the southwest regional headquarters of the state Department of Transportation, 11018 NE 51st Circle. Further information is available by going to the Columbia River Crossing website, www.ColumbiaRiverCrossing.org. Posner and Wheeler join Quinn H. Posner and Mark A. being promoted to assistant vice president in the sales and
service department of Columbia Credit Union, the
