When the acquisition is complete on June 30, John White, founder of the JD White Company, will become a BERGER/ABAM vice president and manager of BERGER/ABAM’s JD White Company Vancouver office at its 1111 Main Street, location. The JD White Company’s Portland office staff will relocate to the BERGER/ABAM Portland office.

The 145-person BERGER/ABAM, headquartered in Federal Way, is affiliated with The Berger Group Holdings, East Orange, N.J., one of the largest consulting groups in the world, with 3,600 employees and offices throughout the United States and in 50 foreign companies. BERGER/ABAM has offices in Seattle, Las Vegas and Houston.

The two firms have frequently worked together on regional projects. Monday, White said: “We believe that combining the strengths of BERGER/ABAM and JD White is great news for our clients and partners in market segments that are experiencing substantial growth. Our two companies are an excellent strategic fit.”

The JD White Company is celebrating its 30th year as a land use, natural resources and public involvement/facilitation consulting firm. JD White currently has over 380 clients in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. White opened the business in an office in the attic of his home and in the same year expanded and moved to a downtown Vancouver office. In 1985, his wife, D’Alene, joined the company as financial officer and office manager.

White has been active in the community. He is a past chairman of the Southwest Washington Medical Center board of trustees, and is a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Clark County, Clark College Foundation, the National Neon Sign Museum, the Clark County YMCA, and is a member of the Washington State University Vancouver Advisory Committee.
