The entire sales receipts, from opening to closing, Thursday, April 27, at the Andresen McDonald’s store will be given to the family of slain Anna Svidersky. Not only that, corporate McDonalds will match the amount. The franchise store at 2814 NE Andresen Road is owned by Matt Hadwin. Seventeen-year-old Anna Svidersky an employee at the store, was stabbed to death last Thursday for no apparent reason. A suspect has been jailed. Other fast-food restaurants are also making contributions to a fund for the family in the memory of Anna. Retired Target executive

Ronald A. Prill, former Target executive who retired as president of Target Financial Services, a subsidiary of Target Corporation, until his retirement in 2003, has been elected to the board of directors of the Bank of Clark County. At Target Financial Services, Prill was responsible for the company’s $8 billion credit card business consisting of 40 million holders of Target Visa cards and private label credit cards. Prill also had served as chairman of the National Retail Federation’s Credit Executive Council and was a director for the Internal Credit Association, After retirement, Prill relocated to Clark County, where he now is a member of the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Vancouver and a member of the Vancouver Rotary Club. Green Mountain Voters pass levy After failing in a special election in February, special levies for the Green Mountain School District were overwhelmingly approved by voters yesterday, according to the unofficial vote totals reported by the Clark County Auditor’s Office. The vote was 170 yes, 82 no, for a 67 percent majority. The special levies will provide maintenance and operations for the 120-student school district. Vancouver Symphony features
pianist Catalan-born Spanish pianist Alex Aiguacil’s solo performance of Brahms Piano Concerto #1 headlines the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s final concert of the year the first weekend in May, at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, and at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 7, in the Skyview High School concert hall, 1300 NW 139th Street. Aiguacil took up the piano at the age of 7 and went on to win the Honor Prize from the Conservatori Superior de Musica in Barcelona upon graduation. He earned a master of music degree in New York City in 2005 from the Manhattan School of Music. Also on the bill is Mahler’s Symphony #1. Music Director Salvador Brotons conducts. Ticket prices are $5 for students, $20 for seniors, $25 for general admission, and $35 for reserved seating.
