Heritage High School students, including the school’s jazz band, will perform at the Barnes and Noble store, 7700 NE Fourth Plain Road, beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, as part of the school’s Dollars for Scholars program, which generates money for college scholarships for graduating seniors. Barnes and Noble customers will be offered vouchers that will designate 15 percent for the scholarship program from every purchase. In addition to jazz music, students will present a scene from a forthcoming production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Formations Design Group Managing partners Bruce Wilson and Laren Laksamana have relocated Formations Design Group to downtown Vancouver at 1610 C Street, Suite 100, reports Laksamana. Founded by Wilson in 1987, the company was first located in the historic Webber Building on Columbia Street. The company provides clients with website development, network and server administration, graphic design and project development services. Bus rides to Mariners’ game for sale Tickets for the Clark College Alumni Association’s 6th annual No-Hassle Seattle Mariners Game and Good Time Motor Coach Trip, providing transportation and tickets to the Seattle Mariners-San Francisco Giants baseball game in Seattle Sunday, July 18, are on sale now. Buses depart the Clark College campus at 8 a.m. for the 1:05 p.m. game. Tickets, including transportation and the game, are $55; $49, for members of the alumni association. For further information, call 992-2542. People Yevhen Usachov, Clark College dental program student, has been awarded the Clark College Alumni Association’s first one-year scholarship. Usachov emigrated to the United States after graduating from high school in Ukraine in 1988, and has since become a U.S. citizen. Usachov, who has a 3.75 GPA, works full-time and is the sole provider for his mother and sister. The $3,000 scholarship is the first financial aid he has accepted. The alumni association has raised nearly half of its goal of $100,000 to maintain endowed scholarships for Clark students. Calendar Farewell receptions for departing Clark College alumni director Cheri Cole today are at 3 p.m. in the Penguin Athletic Club and 5 p.m. in the Quay Bar at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay. n Hazardous waste may be taken to the Clark College parking area near the campus soccer field between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22. There is no charge for the service, part of the College’s observance of Earth Week. n The 9th annual Nez Perce Chief Redheart Memorial begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the former military stockade site in Vancouver Barracks, just north of the Fort Vancouver parking area on E 5th Street. The colorful, three-hour event concludes with the pipe smoking ceremony, in which all military veterans are invited to participate. Those attending should bring lawn chairs or blankets. There is no charge. n Used book sale at the Vancouver Community Library, 1007 E Mill Plain Boulevard, is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 23. n Groundbreaking ceremony for currently named Erickson Farms Neighborhood Park is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22.
