County commissioners revisiting
2004 Growth Management update
Beginning with a review meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April
19, Clark County commissioners will consider amending the county Comprehensive
Growth Management Plan adopted last fall but appealed to the Western Washington
Growth Management Hearings Board.
Commission chair Betty
Sue Morris said today that the pace and character of recent development
and the amount of land available for homes and businesses are elements that will
be reconsidered to see whether urban growth boundaries should be adjusted.
Although the commissioners have concluded that some
aspects of the appeals may have merit, the appeal process will continue under
the direction of the hearings board.
The review meetings are open to the public but will focus
on technical aspects of the plan. Opportunities for public participation will be
announced following the study sessions, according to Morris.
