Stuart says the April session will be followed by forums, later in the year, on transportation, economic development and emerging issues.

Environmental Protection Agency seeking
comment on county drinking water supply

The federal Environmental Protection Agency is seeking comments through Monday, May 1, on a proposal to designate the Troutdale Aquifer System beneath Clark County as the county’s sole source water supply system.

The aquiver supplies about 97 percent of the drinking water available to county residents and is beneath about half the nearly 600-square-mile county. The sole source water supply designation would give the EPA greater authority to review and approve federally funded projects.

The sole source designation is being sought by the Rosemere Neighborhood Association, a former accredited City of Vancouver neighborhood association.

For further information on where to send comments, call EPA Region 10 spokesperson Martha Lentz, (800) 424-4372.
