2-1-1 service coming to Clark County

By the end of February nearly all Clark County residents will be able to dial 2-1-1 from their home telephones to get help finding social services available in their own neighborhoods and communities.

The 2-1-1 service will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, 365 days a year.

The Washington State 211 Agency has completed negotiations with over 100 telephone companies to get switching completed for land lines. According to the agency cellular telephones and pay phones will be added later.

Callers to the 2-1-1 number will be connected with a certified information and referral specialist who can answer questions and refer callers to appropriate services available for their needs.
